On a computerClick an empty date and type. For several days, drag across the dates, release, and write. Press Enter or click elsewhere when you’re done; your writing saves automatically.

On a phone or tabletTap an empty date and type. To cover several days, use Extend in the writing controls, then tap the last date. No start-and-end-date form needed.

On a computerClick the words, change them, then press Enter or click elsewhere. There is no separate event editor or Save button.

On a phone or tabletTap the writing to select it. Tap the words again, or choose Edit, to change them. Finish with the checkmark or your keyboard’s Enter key.

On a computerDrag the writing to its new starting date. Or select it, choose Move, and click the new starting date.

On a phone or tabletTap the writing once, choose Move, then tap its new starting date. You can move plans without opening the keyboard or dragging a tiny label.

On a computerDrag either end of the writing. You can also select it and choose Start for a new first date, or Extend for a new last date.

On a phone or tabletSelect the writing, choose Start or Extend, then tap the new first or last date. Extend can shorten the range too.

On a computerSelect writing and use the eraser. Outside the text field, Delete or Backspace also erases selected writing. Choose Undo in the notice, or press Ctrl+Z / ⌘Z outside the text field to undo a recent change.

On a phone or tabletTap the writing, then the eraser. Choose Undo in the notice to bring it back. Undo also works after moving or changing its dates.

On a computerChoose Create account in the calendar, or Sign in if you already have one. Open My account, choose the calendar, and select Copy an invite link. Send the link yourself. Your partner signs in or creates an account, then chooses Join. They can choose Archive instead; an invitation never joins them automatically.

On a phone or tabletThe same steps work on a phone. Open Sharing & invitations to review invitations or choose another shared calendar. Each invite link works once and expires after 24 hours.

On a computerUse Months shown to choose One month or Two months. In View options, set Week starts on to Sunday (the default) or Monday. Choose Year for an overview, then click a month to open it. Today brings you back to the current month.

On a phone or tabletMonths stack vertically on a phone. You can choose One month to keep the page shorter. Tap a month in Year to return to the detailed calendar. Signed-in view preferences follow you across devices.

On a computerYou can try the calendar without an account; that writing is stored in this browser. An account adds server backup, syncing across devices, and sharing. If the connection drops after the calendar loads, keep writing. Changes queue locally and sync when connectivity returns.

On a phone or tabletWatch for Offline, Syncing, or Unable to sync below the toolbar. Saved on this device means a change has not necessarily reached your partner. Keep the browser’s site data until syncing finishes.

On a computerTab to a date. Arrow keys move between dates; Shift+arrows select a range. Press Enter to write. Tab to the writing controls for Move, Start, Extend, or the eraser. Ctrl+Z / ⌘Z outside a text field undoes a recent calendar change.

On a phone or tabletWith an external keyboard, use the same shortcuts. Otherwise every date change has a tap-based control; a precise drag is never required.

On a computerSelect writing and open its color control. Choose a color, or Automatic to return to the default. Color is optional and never assigns a status or attendee.

On a phone or tabletTap the writing, then its color control. Pick a swatch; the words and dates stay the same.
