PLAN VACATIONS TOGETHER

Before the booking,
there’s a “what if?”

A vacation doesn’t need to be decided before you put it on the calendar. Start with the days you might take, leave room for alternatives, and work out the rest together.

First, find a little room.

Open the year view and look for a stretch that could work. Tap a month to get closer. Write “Hold for vacation” across those dates, even if you haven’t chosen where to go.

Use your own words for the things around it: “Wedding,” “Visiting parents,” or “Maybe leave Thursday night.” A shared calendar gives those little constraints a place where both of you can see them.

June 12–16Somewhere by the sea?

A starting point. Not a commitment.

Keep the alternatives in sight.

Maybe it’s a long weekend this month or a full week next month. Write both possibilities down. Overlapping ideas are welcome too; the calendar doesn’t treat them as mistakes.

A question mark is enough to say “tentative.” You don’t have to choose a status or fill in a trip profile before the idea feels useful. When you decide, edit the words and erase the alternative.

Let either of you change the plan.

Share an invite link from My account. Your partner can create an account or sign in, review the invitation, and choose Join. Then either of you can add writing, change its wording, move it, or adjust its dates.

On a phone, select the writing and use Move to pick a new starting date. Use Start or Extend to adjust either end. On a computer, dragging works too. If a plan disappears by accident, Undo brings it back.

Make the dates feel settled before the details.

Pencil Away is a shared travel calendar for working out when. It leaves room for “maybe” and makes the next change easy. Keep bookings and daily itineraries wherever you already prefer; the calendar stays focused on the days you’re planning together.

You can try writing locally without an account. When you want the same page on another device or with another person, create an account. The getting-started guide shows the whole write, change, and share flow.
